1Bhí teach pacáilte againn in Gort na Móna do léiriú an dráma ardmholta 1981 scriofa agus léirithe ag Tony Devlin.

Ní féidir séanadh go raibh tionchar do-aisiompaithe ag Stalic Ocrais 1981, ina bhfuair deich bhfear bás sa streachailt ar son stádais pholaitiúil, ar na3 forbairtí polaitiúla blianta ina dhiaidh.

Sa dráma uathúil seo, tugadh léargas domhain dúinn ar ghach duine den deich bhfear seo agus cé a bhí siad.

1We had a full house in Gort na Móna for the showing of the acclaimed play 1981 written and performed by Tony Devlin.

There can be no doubt that the 1981 Hunger Strike, in which ten men gave their lives in the struggle for political status, irreversibly shaped the3 political developments for decades to come.

In this unique piece of theatre, we are given a deep insight into the lives of each of the ten men and who they really were.

7Through music, song, visuals and performance, this one person show took us on an extraordinary journey, of how ten very ordinary men shook the world from their prison cells. An ultimately uplifting piece of theatre through tragedy of Shakespearean proportions, ’1981? is the story behind the legacy of the Hunger Strike.

An incredibly powerful play that had the audience both laughing and crying with an exceptional performance by Tony Devlin.
