The Glór na Móna community attended the anti-racist March in Dublin

After a rotten week of far-right-influenced gatherings against refugees and asylum seekers, the Dream Dearg flag was raised at the anti-racist march among 50,000 people in the capital on Saturday.

‘Refugees welcome, not racism’ was the message from the Glór na Móna Gaels.  The Irish language was spoken throughout the speeches by those on the stage.  The day lifted our hearts after the anger that was sparked by a week of racism.

It is so important that we show solidarity with the most oppressed on this island and that we tackle head on the real problem: capitalism.  As the revolutionary Black Panther Fred Hampton said, racism is a byproduct of capitalism:

“If you dare to struggle, you dare to win. We’re going to fight racism not with racism, but we’re going to fight with solidarity. We say we’re not going to fight capitalism with black capitalism, but we’re going to fight it with socialism.”
