D’fhoilsigh an Roinn Cultúir, Ealaíon agus Fóillíochta Straitéis le Forbairt na Gaeilge a Fheabhsú agus a Chosaint 2015 – 2035.

Leagann Straitéis Gaeilge RCEF amach treochlár don Ghaeilge thar an 20 bliain romhainn in earnálacha amhail oideachas, seirbhísí poiblí, an pobal agus na meáin. Glacfaidh seo riachtanais phobal na Gaeilge san áireamh taobh le dea-chleachtas idirnáisiúnta.

Tacú le sealbhú agus foghlaim na Gaeilge ar bhonn ardcháilíochta agus inbhuanaithe.

Stádas agus infheictheacht na Gaeilge a fheabhsú agus a chosaint.

Gréasáin agus pobail ardcháilíochta agus inbhuanaithe Gaeilge a sholáthar.

An Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn ar dhóigh a chuirfidh le cothú pobal láidir, comhroinnte.

The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure has published its Strategy to Enhance and Protect the Development of the Irish Language 2015–2035.

DCAL’s Irish Language Strategy sets out a roadmap for the Irish language over the next 20 years in areas such as education, public services, the community and media, and taking account of the needs of the Irish language community and international best practice.

The key aims of the Strategy are:

Support quality and sustainable acquisition and learning of the Irish language.

Enhance and protect the status and visibility of the Irish language.

Deliver quality and sustainable Irish language networks and communities.

Promote the Irish language in a way that will contribute towards building a strong and shared community.
