Deireadh na seachtaine!

[tab: Gaeilge]

Tar éis seachtain iomlán de spraoi agus imeachtaí taitneamhacha, tá muid ag druidim chun deiridh na féile. Don lá deireanach de Fhéile Gaeilge le Bród, bhí aifreann dátheangach ar siúl i dTeach Pobail Choirp Chríost, Cnoc na Foinse. Chun críoch spleodrach a chur leis an bhféile, bhí Blitzchomórtas peile faoi 10 ann i bPáirc Mhic Ionnrachtaigh, Gort na Móna CLG, le CLG Naomh Pól, CLG Gort na Móna, Cumann Mhic Diabhéid, Rossa CLG, CLG Lámh Dhearg agus Naomh Gall in iomaíocht don corn, sciath agus pláta. Bhain Gort na Móna an Corn, Cumann Mhic Daibhéid an Sciath agus Cumann Lámh Dhearg an Pláta. Le tuairim is 120 páiste ag glacadh páirt, is fíor an ráiteas: is beatha teanga í a labhairt agus tá an Ghaeilge beo beomhar go cinnte go fóill sa cheantar seo. Go raibh maith agaibh do chách a ghlac páirt i rith na féile seo, Féile Gaeilge le Bród 2011!!!

After a fun-filled week of events, we are now approaching the end. There was a bilingual mass in Corpus Christi Church, Springhill, for the last day of Féile Gaeilge le Bród. To finish out the festival in stlye, there was an U10 Football Blitz in Páirc Mhic Ionnrachtaigh, Gort na Móna CLG, with Naomh Pól, Gort na Móna, Cumann Mhic Diabhéid, Rossa CLG, Lámh Dhearg agus Naomh Gall all competing for Cup, Shield and Plate. Gort na Móna raised the Cup, Cumann Mhic Diabhéid the Shield, and Cumann Lámh Dhearg won the Plate. With approximately 120 children taking part, it is true: that a language lives through being spoken, and its clear to see that the Irish language is still alive and well in this area. Thank you to all who took part in this festival, Féile Gaeilge le Bród 2011!!!
