Lainseáil Féile na Carraige

Bhí lainseáil Féile na Carraige an-rathúil ar an Aoine seo chaite (an 21ú) le scaifte gaeilgeoirí agus daoine áitiúla ag teacht amach le thacú le Féile na Carraige agus chun taitneamh a bhaint as giota craic, ceol agus bidh i mBun a Tí.

Bhí Maolcholaim Scott ó Foras na Gaeilge i láthair agus mhol sé an obair a bhí déanta ag Glór na Móna go dtí seo faoin Scéim Pobail Gaeilge.

Labhair Cathaoirleach Ghlór na Móna, Feargal MacIonnrachtaigh chomh maith agus dúirt sé, “Tá athás orainn Féile na Carraige a sholáthar don Uachtar Chluanaí agus na cheantair timpeall i mbliana arís. Ó tús na Féile i 2005, tá an fhéile phobail seo ag dul ó neart go neart. Is gné lárnach é dár obair díchoilíniú agus athbheochan a chuireann páirteachas, cumhachtú agus muinín chun cinn tríd an phobal. ”

Dhruid Caoimhín Mac Gamal ó Feile an Phobail an lainseáil, mar stiúirtheoir ar an fheile phobail is mó in Éirinn, d’aibhsigh MacGamal an tábhacht atá taobh thiar de fhéiltí phobal áitiúla mar Féile na Carraige. Lena chois sin, dúirt sé cé chomh meanmnaigh is atá sé fás agus forbairt na n-imeachtaí agus tógraí a mbíonn ag céiliúradh ár dteanga dúchasach, ár chultúr dúchaasach agus ár n-oidhreacht dúchasach.

Tá clár Féile na Carraige i mbliana pacáilte le himeachtaí a freastlaíonn ar gach duine sa phobal. Beidh ceoil maidne ann i gColáiste Feirste do phinsinéirí, ceardlann amhránaíochta do daltaí gaelscoile a reachtáil ag an réalt Gráinne Holland, beidh Lá Spraoi den chéad scoth do theaghlaigh ar an Satharn agus beidh Kíla ag glacadh chun staitse an oíche sin i Naomh Eoin. Tá blaiseadh den oideachas, féiniúlacht agus craic cultúrtha do chách i rith na seachtaine. Bígí linn!

Beidh Féile na Carraige ar siúl ón 8ú-14ú de mí Deireadh Fómhair, buail isteach chuig oifig Glór na Móna chun cóip de chlár na Féile a fháil. Is féidir cóip aíoslódáil ó www.glornamona.com chomh maith.

The launch of Féile na Carraige was a major success last Friday (21st of September) with a great crowd of gaeilgeoirs and locals coming out to show their support and enjoy a bit of craic, music and food in Glór na Móna’s “Bun an Tí” on the  Whiterock Road.

Maolcholaim Scott from Foras Na Gaeilge praised Glór na Móna on their work hitherto under Scéim Pobail Gaeilge.

Glór na Móna’s chairperson Feargal MacIonnrachtaigh also spoke and stated, “We are delighted to again provide the Upper Springfield and surroundings areas with Féile na Carraige. From its inception in 2005, this community festival has gone from strength to strength each year. It’s a central aspect of our decolonising and revival work that promotes participation, empowerment and confidence throughout the community.”

Féile an Phobail’s Kevin Gamble closed the launch, as director of the largest community festival in Ireland, Gamble emphasised the importance of local community festivals, like Féile na Carraige. He also added how encouraging it to see the growth and the development of events and initiatives that celebrate our native language, culture and heritage.

This year’s Féile na Carraige programme is jam packed with events to suit all facets of the community, there will be a music morning in Coláiste Feirste for pensioners, singing workshops facilitated by the amazing Grainne Holland for local gaelscoil children, there will be a great fun day for families on the Saturday afternoon while the legendary Kíla will be taking to the stage that night in St John’s. There is a taste of education, identity and cultural craic for everyone throughout the week. Bígí linn
