‘Tá scannáin ann a phléann le stair na hÉireann, cogadh cathartha na Spáinne, streachailt na mban, éagóir na bPáilístíne, réabhlóid Mheiriceá Láidineach,  ceartas don Phobal aerach agus ábhar nach iad.’

We have chosen various films, both in Irish and English, which deal with the contemporary society and world around us. We have prioritised inspirational stories of struggle, when those victims of oppression have stood up and challenged their oppressors.’

‘There are films that cover Irish history, the Spanish Civil War, the women’s struggle, the injustices of Palestine, revolution in Latin America, the fight for equality of amongst the Gay community and many other topics.

‘The series commences on January 31 with the documentary, ‘Soivéidí na hÉireann’ and another short film on Liam Mellows which depicts the socio-economic aspect of the Irish revolution; all are welcome’.

‘We want to give people to opportunity to learn, reflect and debate and challenge the myth that ‘there is no alternative’. A fairer world can and should be fought for. We are in no doubt that the film club will add to the discussion on the ways and means in which we can all play a positive role’.
